I'm Lita, the healing hands behind Facial Garden
I have been a Registered Nurse for thirty years and have loved this career but when my Plastic Surgeons began talking about retirement, I started praying for a new idea that would use my experience and personality and that is why I opened Facial Garden. My facial specialist / esthetician Tammy has been an amazing mentor for me and she is the one who said, “You would be perfect as a solo esthetician! You are a nurse who has studied wellness, nutrition, and you have worked at the plastic surgery center for about 30 years, so you know about taking care of skin and helping people. You are a nurse with a caring heart and skin experience, so go for it and I will help you any way I can.” Her words and actions have helped me create an awesome spa and gift shop in the downtown area of Leesburg.
When I was a little girl in Alabama, there were times when life wasn’t perfect and I would go hide in the huge azalea bushes under a big oak tree and escape. I found peace and strength in that little garden and I hope that people will experience those feelings at the Facial Garden. Life can be stressful, depressing, lonely, and chaotic. I believe we need to find a place to relax and “recharge our batteries” and that is the atmosphere I am creating at the spa.
On my business cards I have these words, “The beauty and wellness of your skin must come from the beauty and wellness within.” If the gut is unhealthy and the heart is filled with unhealthy feelings and thoughts, then the skin will also be unhealthy. In nursing school I was taught to treat the whole person, not just their disease. The mind, body and soul are one package and I will take this knowledge into Facial Garden. I will not be offering some of the expensive and fancy treatment devices (although I do have some amazing tools and products) but I offer a tranquil atmosphere, education, and encouragement for my clients.
